Mummy, watch this!
Quote this with your most spine-chilling three-word phrase in the English language. I bet you can't beat "replacement bus service" or "family fun day".

Parents have changed the pharmacy they are registered with. I was just there saying how kind and helpful they’ve been over the last few days and another customer said, yes they are, they’re the best pharmacy in Birmingham.

Been to a lovely afternoon birthday bash. Result of afternoon drinking is that I’m in bed while the birds are still singing outside.

Beautiful rain just now in Bham. It’s been a hot day at my parents’ and I’m pretty sure some heating is stuck on. Everything says it’s off, but this house always used to stay cool in summer.

I proof-read daughter’s a-level geography project. It was very long and I felt sorry for teachers having to mark a ton of them. I couldn’t tell if she’d done well or not, turns out she has, so that’s a relief.

#EfES thought for today...💭
Children love learning ways to help improve our environmental systems, but they're even more enthusiastic about taking action. Today Y2s worked to answer the @ministryofeco.bsky.social question "How important are soils?". They're now compost advocates & worm whisperers 😃

1. You feel powerless? Don’t know what you can do to resist the rise of fascism?
Here is an answer: Good Things.
Fascism inflicts pain and harm as a matter of doctrine.
Kindness, care and conviviality defend us from it.
The more we build community, the less it can take root.

This to me is the most striking finding on the depth of UK support for Ukraine. We know there is strong support for Ukraine in general but the fact that it even persists traded off against maintaining relations with for the US is a testament to how deep that support is.
Britons tend to say it is more important to support Ukraine than to maintain good relations with the US

More important to support Ukraine: 48%
More important to maintain good relations with the US: 20%
Neither: 14%

Genuinely all people who live in the world should be forced to make a single garment of clothing from beginning to end at the onset of adulthood to understand how much labour goes into clothing production.
Obviously it’s fucking awesome that Primark have a range of adaptive clothing but also: Primark is deeply explorative and unethical as a clothing brand.

Never believe that anti-Semites are unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words.

This report shows that the Paris Agreement massively underplays risks

Yet the UNFCCC within which it sits is supposed to establish a precautionary principle, i.e. don't take risks. Looks like that got completely ignored
"Current #climate policies risk catastrophic societal and economic impacts"

The Institute & Faculty of Actuaries and climate scientists from @exeter.ac.uk published a vital new report today.

Here's a thread with some key takeaways 🧵
