The depth of ignorance and callousness on display here by the DHS representative is breathtaking. It's what you get when you think you know everything and there is is nothing else to learn. Such a level of unearned confidence fosters hate & cruelty because it so easily validates stupid ideas.
BERMAN: How many of the 40,000 people born in Somalia living in Minnesota do you consider to be garbage?

McLAUGHLIN: We're really looking at the data

BERMAN: All of them?

McLAUGHLIN: This is not about politics. This is about public safety. We saw the terrorist attack against us last week.

NEW: Indiana Republicans are trying to make sure no judge can stop their new gerrymander, adding provisions in their bill to ban temporary blocks, bypass lower courts and force every challenge straight to the conservative-majority state Supreme Court.

The photos were stolen from European models & posts pushed pro-Trump lines while targeting Islam and LGBTQ people.

Just so we’re ALL clear: the President of the United States made death threats toward sitting Democratic members of Congress.

But they’re always claiming Democrats are the dangerous ones, right?

I really have no more energy for these Dems who don’t have the heart to fight back. They need to get out of the way
NEW: It appears Senate Dems have enough votes for cloture with Jacky Rosen flipping to a yes vote. Rand Paul voted no. Kaine, Rosen, Fetterman, Shaheen, Hassen, King, Durbin, Cortez-Masto are the dems yes votes.

The SCOTUS majority is not just making bad decisions, the way they are doing so greatly hurts the credibility of the courts. If precedent, or even the actual facts of a particular case, don't matter, what are we even doing?
Even though it mustered only 356 words to justify putting Trump's spiteful anti-trans passport policy back into effect, #SCOTUS managed to show us two of the flawed analytical moves it keeps making *only* in Trump cases to provide cover for granting emergency relief.

My latest, via "One First":
189. The Breezy Inequity of Trump v. Orr
The Supreme Court's latest grant of emergency relief to the Trump administration illustrates in technicolor the direct (and ugly) consequences of the two different ways it keeps messing up "equity."

In response to "A House of Dynamite," the Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency sent around an internal memo with the talking point that US defenses are *100% accurate*. No system is 100% accurate. And under Hegseth, the Pentagon is about propaganda, not responsible information.
The Military’s Missile Defense System Cannot Be as Good as It Says
Kathryn Bigelow’s new movie, A House of Dynamite, is more accurate on this point than the Defense Department itself.
