The whole Make America Great movement claims to be nostalgic for the New Deal era in which Trump grew up, but they seek to undo the progressive taxation, labor-friendly policies, and robust welfare state (including social security, Medicare, investments in higher education) that lay at its core.

Democrats should attack republicans where they are strong, and continue attacking, so that when it comes to election season they are weaker across the board

your average Democratic voter thinks ICE is a bunch of vile thugs who deserve ostracism and public trials but the higher you climb the ranks of the party the less agreement you find with that entry-level liberal/left commitment and by the time you get to DC it's gone entirely

The Overton Window has shifted incredibly far, far right during the last 20+ years and a huge part of that is allowing fascists to drive conversations that primarily begin and end with "things are too far left." They're not, nor have they ever been. But too few challenged this premise.
