Why grieve when you can exploit? Before anyone has any facts about who the shooter is or his motives, the people who want to do nothing to prevent gun violence are blaming the party that is constantly speaking out against gun violence for the gun violence. Did i get that right?

Political violence is always immoral and always counterproductive for a healthy democracy. It solves nothing. It only leads to further violence and ultimately enables scapegoating of vulnerable communities. Committing acts of violence against those who disagree with us helps no one.

There is never reason for this violence and this is an inexcusable tragedy but i agree that he did not practice politics the right way. His currency was controversy and he made a career of stoking anger. That is not politics the right way, it’s just Alex Jones with a younger audience.
Charlie Kirk did not practice politics the right way. He made a career of engaging in the worst degree of bad faith and putting the lives of vulnerable people at greater risk with his shameless propaganda.
His murder is entirely reprehensible, but that doesn't condone his unbridled hatred.

Super important piece on how states can help fill the gaps created by RFK's anti-vax policies. We desperately need RFK out of the job, where he's doing immense damage to public health, but Dem Governors can take effective steps here if they want to. (So can R Governors! Not sure they'll want to.)
