Aren't Truth and Reconciliation commissions and Nuremberg style trials kind of opposites? One is "so many people did bad things that we need an amnesty for anyone who confesses to breaking the law," the other is "this conduct was so egregious that it deserves punishment regardless of domestic laws"
We're gonna need a truth and reconciliation commission and Nuremberg style trials to reckon with all of this evil, and any Dem candidate for office who shies away from a full reckoning in the name of "moving forward as a nation" can get well and truly fucked
I feel much safer today knowing that we deported a Babson College student back to a country where she hasn't lived since childhood.

She wasn't even flying internationally. She was flying to Texas.

I thought the patronage thing was an exaggeration, but "All these families around here needed someone to call on for something. The new people that have moved in don’t need politics for their kid to get a job or to get a letter of recommendation like we did." 😬
Anyway there's a whole lot of cope in this article. Frank blames his base for not coming out to vote, he blames his opponents for out-organizing him, he blames people without kids because they don't need a patronage system to get their kids a job...

My first rule of sports gambling is to avoid betting on outcomes where the result is more important to gamblers, in aggregate, than to the athletes on the field.

As the quantity of gambling explodes, betting on just about anything other than money line game outcomes is a worse and worse idea.

If you have home plate seats at the World Series and they catch your ass dinking around on your phone back there a big claw game thing should come down and pluck you up and out by the head.

I've yet to see Bo Bichette in person, but Dante Bichette gave me an autograph at Red Sox spring training in 2001, and he had the largest forearms of any human I've ever met.

Wow. Sidney Reid, the DC woman just found not guilty of assaulting an FBI agent, issues a withering and gutsy statement on Trump through her attorneys.

"I feel sorry for the prosecutors really, who must be burdened by Trump's irrational and unfounded hatred for his fellow man."

It's a must-read:

I figure everyone flagrantly breaking the law on behalf of the administration figures it's fine because they'll inevitably get a pardon. Because if there's one thing Trump is known for, it's following through on his end of a bargain.
Laws are not self-executing. Is this an obvious Hatch Act violation? Of course. But without good men and women in government faithfully executing the laws, it doesn't matter.

When this is all over, assuming we still have a constitutional government, there needs to be an accounting.
By my count: Of the 15 Departments of the US Government, 13 launched new BlueSky accounts tonight (all but Justice and HUD), and all 13 have posted explicitly partisan political posts blaming Democrats and/or Chuck Schumer for the government shutdown.
