I have done it. I have written my draft’s inciting event. And broken through a total word count of 15k. A little off the mark, but that’s alright, will correct it in the edit.
No slowing down. On a roll. Obsessed with this rewrite draft. Eager to get it out of me and into the editing stage. 🥰

Probably my best fanfiction I ever wrote was about prayer. I guess it makes sense my adult fantasy fiction novel would include scenes of it too. Oh, sorry, back to drafting.

Having a very bad evening, I made a mistake with my schedule and with managing the kids and my partner is rightfully upset with me. But I’m trying to make it right…will feed kids, put kids to bed, then try to get some words down.

Too many people have resigned themselves to not reading because they fear they no longer have the focus for it. You only need to limit your screen time for a few days to begin feeling the effects on your brain. I promise you, you are capable of reading books again.

I stitched in a scene I liked from the previous draft into the current draft rewrite while my daughter was eating lunch and my stupid brain is trying to make me feel guilt over it. I even edited and polished the scene up, it fits nicely, why is my brain like “cheater” lolllll 🤨

So there’s a website called Deer Of St Nicholas which posts Christmas wish letters from Ukrainian children who had their childhood stolen by the war, anyone can pick a child and get them their present and it’s that time of the year again to achingly scroll it for hours again

Chapter 3 is rewritten, I have flown past 10k for this draft. I must write the inciting event next. It’s a doozy. I worry it’s too heavy for a cozy fantasy, but my comps I’ve chosen to describe this story to people have emotionally heavy scenes sprinkled in too. So I’ll let instinct guide me here.

1200+ new words down, new writing music added to my playlist did the trick, and conquered a difficult piece of world building that was necessary to include for my setting. I’m pleased. This is the best version of this story yet. The rewrite is so far a success. I believe, man. 🤨
