Repeating daily since Trump was inaugurated 🫠
Dear Europe, especially Germany,

Stop obsessing over what Trump will or won’t do. Hoping & praying America will step up so we don’t have to is dangerously stupid.

Step up yourself, destroy Russia’s war economy, & give Ukraine what they need to win.

Europe must defend Europe.

This, in a nutshell, is where we’re at. All the lies, the distraction, NGO-blaming and drive towards even further deregulation is to cover the naked fact that, in Ireland, big polluters pull the strings and our politicians just nod along.

Opinions might differ, but the science is clear: lifting the cap will mean more emissions and more harm to human health.

In Ireland, burning land releases substantial greenhouse gases and smoke. Half of fires are in 'Special Areas of Conservation' and much of this is presented as 'traditional management'.

Rewilding can help, as can low intensity grazing with cattle, but we need to ban all burning ASAP 🔥

Seeing as everyone is writing Brexit anniversary pieces, I thought I'd give it a go.

Brexit for 🇪🇺 didn't begin in. 2020 or even 2016.

Brexit began during the financial crisis, with UK blackmail.

“A very strange and very quiet deletion from Coillte’s business plan and strategy.”

In the depths of a biodiversity crisis, #Coillte has quietly folded its dedicated nature restoration division, #CoillteNature. Is this not a signal that Coillte is not committed to nature restoration?
