🚨Reports around the country today that some people who showed up for their immigration court hearings were told that ICE prosecutors had dismissed their cases — and then were arrested moments later by ICE officers and taken to detention centers for unknown reasons. Happening in multiple cities.
Immigration court has always been the one place I could tell people they could feel safe from ICE enforcement... until today.

I have one trusted report of FIFTY ICE officers swarming a CA immigration court. This hasn't hit media yet but advocates have been hearing reports from around the country.
THIS IS NOT NORMAL: Plainclothes ICE agents are inside the Immigration court buildings at 26 Federal, 290 Broadway & 201 Varick St, harassing people for their paperwork & detaining them. ALL OUT TO VARICK STREET DETENTION CENTER NOW 2 PM TILL LATE: meet at the garage on the West Houston Street Side

Everyone needs to be aware of this kind of bot.

Many of us believe we have a duty to respond gently to polite argumentation. Especially in advocacy.

Nope.

If someone sealions, check their timeline to see if this is a pattern. Then report & block, as @rahaeli.bsky.social describes. 🧵(1/6)
So about ten years ago I found a small network of bots on Reddit dedicated to spreading hate. The thing about it is that these weren't even responding to political topics - they were just responding to random keywords with insults and hate.

The same bots are now here. You should understand why. 🧵
this is kind of a niche issue but: if you are getting weird and hostile responses that feel a little off, there are some folks on here making accounts that automatically reply to large quantities of posts in a vaguely hostile manner. you can ignore them, and also, it's not personal

The Supreme Court case tomorrow is fundamentally not about gender affirming care, it's about whether or not trans people have any protections under the 14th amendment. A loss in this case would greenlight a torrent of explicitly discriminatory legislation without much, if any judicial recourse.

He didn't win the popular vote. The GOP gamed this with voter suppression and strategic ballot spoiling. This isn't normal or legitimate.

Trump wants to avoid FBI background checks for the likes of Matt Gaetz and Tulsi Gabbard?

A president who cared about the country would want to make sure their nominees were not child sex traffickers or fond of dictators.

But it’s never been America first. Only Trump first.
