Bluesky Sunday sermon

Good morning, Bluesky! Fancy a spot of tea? 😸🫖👀

The scaredy-cat stuff I mention above is EXACTLY why we need to do this. If you're on the fence, could you please consider joining us? I know, I know. "Protests don't work." But optics do. This could be historic. In fact, we need to hope it is.

Come be part of it?

I confess, I'm a little nervous about today. Somewhere in the country, protesters will likely be killed. 🍊 may become enraged and declare martial law. This could light the powder keg and make all of us less safe. CWII has never been more possible.

...or not. (continued)

One day - I'm not sure when - she needs to be President. I hope it's while I'm still alive.
There's nothing holy about writing discrimination into the law.

Mass Protest 14Jun2025 let's make this protest so big that krasnov's military parade looks like a toddler playing with plastic soldiers.

Arf! Arf! 🐶

Why does this fry my butt more than most of his bs? I guess it's just more "Dear Leader"esque Soviet/fascist than my Cold War Baby sensibilities can handle. 😡
We must make our presence known and voices heard. We will be protesting, as well as calling Congress members.

C'mon, Chuckie...pretty please?

Good morning, says Natasha! Well, this pic was snapped last evening, but she's heard it's always morning somewhere. 🌄

My little Scottish willow (Salix boydii) is finally breaking dormancy, and giving me little silver roses! All of my cuttings failed last year and willows are usually easy to propagate, so THAT was embarrassing. 🙄 I'll try again next winter.

Gorgeous day off today; much gardening will be done. 🌿✨️

Looks like the next major protest is, fittingly enough, on May Day. It falls on a Thursday this year, a day off for me, so I can go! I always have to work Saturdays. 🫤

Even our little Burlington had a good showing yesterday. Locals, let me know if you'd like to meet up and do this! 💪💙🇺🇸

Feeling just dandy this morning, for no particular reason other than the hope spring naturally brings. It's the season I feel most alive and have to make most of my income for the year, and this year, it's my sweetest distraction from politics. How YOU doin'?

The censorship on FB is getting worse...I'd love to ditch it altogether, but too many people I care about there and little engagement here. 😒

I'm trying to design some protest signs. Not sure about this one because the red and the blue kind of mute each other (hahaa, life imitates "art") but the message is real. I am not dogmatic; if a MAGAt changes it's mind and figures out what's really going on, I will at least be civil.

The "classics" are often overrated, but I really enjoyed this book. 1920s=2020s in many ways, though the shit we're in now lacks the glamour of pre-Depression America.
“They were careless people…they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness…and let other people clean up the mess they had made…” -- F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby (April 10, 1925).

Thank you and much love to everyone who protested yesterday. The crowd was impressive, even in my little town. I had to work, of course, but very much regret - well, more than regret! - that I've done nothing substantial for the cause yet. This must change. I'll find a way. 💪💙🩵💙

Get 'em, Pete!
I’ve never seen Pete this angry and rightfully so. Trump and his administration are incompetent and they are putting this country in danger. Unbelievable fuckup.!

See? Senator Murray could have gone to the show, perhaps worn pink, and wagged one of these really cool ping-pong paddles at the Prez. 🙄
March 5, 2025 at 3:59 PM
I try not to hate on the Dems for their feeble response to...well, everything, but here I go again. My WA Senator Patty Murray just stayed home and didn't go to Trump's speech last night, a perfect metaphor for how they're handling the worst political shitshow of my life. Just stayed home. 😡
