Sean Hecker, Kilmar's attorney, once hailed how much courage it took Kilmar to challenge what DOJ/DHS is doing to him. That stuck with me. Kilmar Abrego is just some guy, vulnerable in a way most of us are not.

But he has taken on Trump and ... thus far at least, prevailed.
"Today’s ruling is a powerful affirmation that the rule of law still matters," Sandoval-Moshenberg said. "The Court made … clear that the govt cannot detain a person indefinitely without legal authority, and that every agency involved must now comply fully and promptly with the Court’s directives."
Kilmar Abrego Garcia is released from ICE custody following judge's order
Judge Paula Xinis of the U.S. District Court in Maryland ruled that the Trump administration lacked the legal authority to continue holding Abrego.

The Indiana GOP's new congressional gerrymander failed by a vote of 31-19.

21 Republicans joined the 10 Democrats in voting no.
BREAKING: Indiana Republicans FAILED to pass a new 9-0 congressional gerrymander after enough GOP senators sided with Dems. The GOP's 7-2 map stays in place.

Trump is trying to re-gerrymander maps nationwide. At least 11 Indiana Rs got death threats after he called for primaries—but it still failed

They're still up against the clock on this. Even if all the signatures appeared today, there's still a seven legislative day wait before it ripens, and then it has to be offered, AND THEN leadership has two days to bring up for a floor vote.

There's only 6 legislative days left this year.
Significant development in the last 24 hours. Vulnerable Republicans have avoided the discharge petition all year to extend ACA money. But now, with Speaker Johnson digging in against this, a group of Rs are defying him by threatening to team up with Dems and force it to a vote.
Another discharge petition to extend ACA funds: Kiggans-Gottheimer bill for a 2 year extension plus tweaks to the money. 9 House Republicans have signed on so far. clerk.house.gov/DischargePet...

Barred from leaving Romania, Andrew Tate courted powerful figures on the American right, from Tucker Carlson to Barron Trump. Then an extraordinary order let him go.

This week, Senate Republicans gave LIFETIME judicial appointments to more anti-abortion fanatics who support fetal personhood—the dangerous idea that a fetus should have the same rights as a pregnant woman.

They're hoping you don't notice. I won’t let this fly under the radar.

Trump said last year that he would focus on deporting immigrants who were violent criminals. But a study of arrests in major operations in DC, LA, Illinois and Massachusetts shows that the vast majority of those swept up by ICE have no criminal record.
