If a bill is so bad that you have to exempt entire states from its consequences to win the votes you need—just don't pass the bill!

I just forced a vote to try to strip out Republicans' defund Planned Parenthood provision from their Big Ugly bill.
Republicans voted NO. They voted to shutter some 200 health clinics and deny women basic health care like cancer screenings & birth control.

GOP Senator Tom Tillis, a vociferous opponent of the Big Bill for the right reasons, has announced he will NOT run for reelection. 1/ If Justice Barrett thinks we need to go back to what the Founding Fathers intended, I’ve got news for her. Their biggest concern was avoiding tyranny. So they created 3 branches of gov’t & divvied up the power the people (that’s us) were allowing the gov’t to use to create order for all of us.
