Reds, OSU Buckeyes, and CBJ follower. I write some stuff at Redleg Nation from tine to time. I used to be a server, storage, and data networking person once upon a time.
Recall in Breaking Bad, after Walter W had shot Mike then started explaining why, and Mike replied, "Just shut the (bleep) up and let me die in peace"? As I'm aging whether my final day is tomorrow or 20 years from now, I find myself wanting to tell more and more problematic folks what Mike told WW

Trump asserting recently that he was a smart man had the ring of Nixon's I am not a cook claim 50+ years ago
Gavin Newsom trolled Trump with an AI answer about dementia symptoms, then showed Trump doing exactly that on video. “Dementia Don” trended. The guy who’s spent years claiming Biden has dementia now can’t finish a sentence without wandering off a cliff, and it’s starting to stick.

Cleaning up the day after Wolf's departure> steroid and cough pills he had been on for over a year due to early stage COPD. Vet recommended joint and bone supplement. Also an immune system additive due to intestinal parasites that should have been self correcting. Wolf fought long and well
It has been a tough day here. After 14 and a half years together, we had to send Wolf on his way over the Rainbow Bridge to meet his old pal Zeke, who crossed 3 years ago. Here is Wolf in his prime, which is how he'd want to be recalled. Thanks for being with us, Wolf.

After an 11-day foreign trip with only a tablet (iPad) and a phone (Pixel/Android) for internet access, I find myself wondering if I really need a PC at this point in my life. Maybe I will hedge my bets by getting a new (Windows) laptop for writing, but get rid of the 3 traditional PCs I now have??

Going on 11pm Feb 26 here near Dayton, Ohio and we have been having a thunderstorm for the 45-60 minutes. Nothing too terrible, just periodic gentle rolling thunder and steady rain for most of the time. But at ~11pm on Feb 26 at 40 North Latitude??

No need not to play it like the 7th game of the Stanley Cup finals tonight. Unless there is a concern about injury, let guys skate their legs off so long as they are playing better than the guys they are taking minutes from would be skating.
#CBJ warmup lineup vs #NYR tonight:

Voronkov-Fantilli-Johnson
Van Riemsdyk-Del Bel Belluz-Sillinger
Aston-Reese - Danforth - Olivier
Pyyhtia-Kuraly

Werenski-Provorov
Mateychuk-Severson
Johnson/Christiansen-Harris

Merzlikins
Tarasov

Someone I know successfully completed the process of getting the Google Play store to function on their Amazon Fire tablet. They said after seeing it in action that for the money, maybe it was as good or better than their iPad since what they do mostly on a tablet is stream video and check news.

It is still colder than cold here. Our various networked devices are reporting 7F at noon. That's presumably at the WPAFB weather station about 5 miles west.

Thinking back to the cold winters of the 1970s-80s, I will say having broadband certainly reduces the cabin fever aspect of brutal cold.

After a couple of weeks of fighting the flu type A (confirmed by a swab test), I am finally starting to feel more or less normal. For the record, I had received the flu, RSV, latest COVID and Prevnar 20 shots but still had troublesome bronchial congestion. Steroids and time seem to have cleared it.

20º (F) here this AM. Whatever happened to global warming and La Niña!? 😉 Guess they took a long Thanksgiving weekend. At least it is just ~ a week until our earliest sunset of the year at this locale.

On the OSU punt, the field seemed to open up in front of McLarty. His fellow Aussie predecessors, Johnson and Micro, well might have tucked the ball and run for it.

Pulling kick across their body when the spot is on their outside toe is not a give me for any kicker; but a missing a poocher from 35 yards when his kicking toe is his inside toe????

I am wondering how many of these OSU run calls are Kelly and how many are Day over rides. Made no sense to try and go wide on 2nd 4 inside the 15th.

Buckeyes keep looking for a home on a run or YAC on short completions when they only stop themselves when throwing down field.

That 3rd down play by the Buckeyes was a real Hawkeyes play.

On Day's future if Bucks lose today>> At 10-2 w/ wins over PennSt and IU and 1pt loss to Ore, if Ducks win B1G, OSU would likely still be 2nd B1G team in CFP ranking w/ head to head W's over IU and PennSt. Doesn't OSU owe it to B1G to let that play out first?

Ordered an iPad 10th generation Sunday evening when Costco dropped them to $250. It came today; but, I am holding to my promise I will not start to "play" with it until after all the Thanksgiving day visitors have departed and maybe even until Friday AM

Buddy is finishing out his 10th month with us as our 3rd dog.
For his 1st month or so he was crated in a wire cage overnight and when we were away. Today as Thanksgiving prep, we finally got around to collapsing and storing the unused cage. Buddy was not sure what to make of the goings on. 🫠

I know a lot of us our new to BlueSky 🦋 I came across this 10-minute Bluesky video for beginners. Kinda like a Bluesky 101. Great coverage of Starter Packs, Feeds, Lists, and Etiquette. Worth the watch! Please consider reposting it for others if you benefit. Thanks! 💙

And the Wisconsin QB gets to do the head bowed "final" walk off twice in one game after his defense earns him a 2nd shot at tying or even winning the game.
Somebody should tell whoever is in charge of Wisconsin's offense that teams that play not lose very often end up not winning.

Here are some of my extended thoughts in a Redleg Nation comment about David Bell's departure from the Reds and his soft landing in Toronto. I am happy for him.

The Reds payroll will be maintained, perhaps increased in 2025 - Redleg Nation
The Cincinnati Reds payroll is not expected to drop in 2025, but if it increases is a question that remains unanswered at this point.
