I'm a reporter at NBC News and I'm interested in speaking with people who are familiar with the specific technical details of onboarding DOGE staff at the federal agency level — USAID or CFPB or wherever. You can reach me on Signal at: davidingram.77. I can honor requests for anonymity.

We need to call out the blatant lie being pushed by the Trump administration—that Elon’s staffers have only “read-only” access. It has been confirmed across departments that they have “administrative” access to computer systems.

the speed with which AOC’s colleague jumps up to yield her an extra 30 seconds so she can land her closer: teamwork
AOC: "I want folks at home to look at what members of Congress are invested in private prisons companies, and look at the votes on this bill. It is atrocious that people are lining their pockets with private prison profits in the name of a horrific tragedy."

The DOGE executive order hides it inside the U.S. Digital Service to avoid advisory commission rules. It also gives Elon access to every unclassified record in the federal government. My latest in our Executive Action Reaction roundup:

EVs are coming. The only question is who will make them. If the US decides to gut the incentives to make them in the United States, that is a gift to China and US automakers will likely lose out in the long-run, turning the US market into a gas guzzling island. Good luck with that.
Good piece by @axios.com's Joann Mueller on how the changing of federal EV policies could put US automakers (and many others) on the back foot compared to rising Chinese automakers like BYD.

Trump's end to "EV mandate" could weaken automakers against China
Trump's policies, while meant to help the domestic industry, could leave it fighting China with one hand behind its back.

I love that Eric Adams -- after doing absolutely nothing as Mayor and getting caught committing a bunch of oafish crimes -- comes out and says he doesn't feel like a Democrat anymore.

Like...thank you? Honestly best case scenario for the Democratic brand

Makes perfect sense to discontinue medical research right after a global pandemic that killed millions. This is the kind of strategic thinking we need!
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.

These emails, sent across agencies, compel all federal employees to snitch on any colleague whose work might have some vague DEIA inflection. Those who refuse to snitch will be disciplined.

Seems designed to put all workers who aren’t white men under a cloud of suspicion. Truly vile stuff.
The acting director of the Office of Personnel Management (the feds' H.R. department) is telling federal employees to rat out their DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility) colleagues by emailing "DEIAtruth@opm.gov."

Idc what MSM says or how they try to spin it. It is exactly what it is.
