The weirdest thing has just happened. Got in touch with my GP surgery at 10am and they gave me an appointment two hours later.

Feel like #Labour should be getting WAY more credit for this but, alas, everyone's shouting about flags and boats instead.

"I hear again and again that the Israelis – the Jews – had it coming. Knowing allusions to Jewish influence, Jewish power. Stereotypes of Jewish cruelty."

Written before today's attack on a Manchester synagogue. It's the kind of piece I never thought I'd write.

Rayner is absolute class. She's been a bit silly in organising her taxes, but that's not why they hate her. They hate her because she did not know her place.

Baby voice: Things can be good without being perfect. You must learn to grasp this fact. If you are unable to do so, you will have a very thankless life, politically and personally.

So then Elon goes "Kill the Bill!" and Trump goes "Elon has TDS!" so Elon goes "I'm the reason Trump won!" so Trump goes "we waste billions on Elon!" so Elon goes "Epstein!" and a corpulent flunkie goes "Deport Elon!" and Elon goes "Impeach!"

And THAT'S why women are too emotional to be President.

What are you doing with your life this week? If it's not "going to Manchester to see this" then you're doing it very, very wrong. It's so good!

I remember when the ban was going through parliament and people were seriously arguing it would spell the end of the live music industry. Just imagine if they tried to un-ban it now...
probably even starker for people even a smidge older than me but I do think a lot about how much the world has changed on that front in my lifetime, isn't it mad that I remember smoking in bars and at gigs, and being able to smoke in all flats/houses by default
Once widespread, smoking is now uncommon in Great Britain 🧵

Don't mean to sound like one of those things-were-better-in-my-day bores but I'm sure there was a time when the news was less... insane.

Olden days baddies were basically Jerry Leadbetter and we never knew how good we had it.

Amazed no pop star has ever chosen the name ‘Billy-O’ given its obvious association with speed and excess. Have to make do with William Orbit I suppose.

I don't know if this is a 'me' thing but this winter has felt like an absolute fucker. Cannot describe the absolute joy of the first sight of daffodils.
