The underfunding of councils since 2010 has fuelled Reform's rise more than anything, and fixing that is probably how Labour goes about defeating them.

This was actually my main takeaway from reading the (excellent) Francis Wheen biography. He pissed away 90% of his working hours writing letters about whatever pointless quarrel he was involved in.
Should maybe have focused more on stacking up 'economics' and that sort of thing.

He's been remarkably 'fecund' - he's basically the Lana Del Rey of linguistic and political theory - and it would just take fucking months to do it properly.

I would imagine that come the next election and the very real prospect of a Reform government people will vote tactically like never before and will probably get over their current problems with Labour
