天台宗の性的スキャンダルの件について、僧侶が発言しないことを詰る向きがあり、それ自体は心情としては理解できるものだが、しかし妥当ではない。奇異に思われるかもしれないが、これは現実的にいえば、一人スポーツ選手がこのような問題を起こしたら他の選手はこれについて発言せねばならないというのと実は同等だ。じっさいはそれぞれがそれぞれの持ち場においてのやれることをただやるだけという大前提があり、他者の責を何らかのかたちで負わねばならないということはない。

Another Formosan language documented in the mid-17th century by the Dutch is Favorlang (虎尾壟) which was spoken by the Babuza people (巴布薩族) living in the plains of central Taiwan. Unfortunately, Favorlang also become extinct.

今年はVISAがとんでもなく難航した。このせいで数ヶ月間振り回されっぱなしだった。まだパスポートすら戻ってきていない。来週からインド行きが決まっており、そちらはチケットもVISAも完璧。インド側が、もうスリランカではなくインドに長くいたらどうかと言ってきている。

For example, this Tangut fragment matches this page in the Chinese text, where: 𗢰𘓩𗴒𗃬𗈜𗌮𗆐 = 南無離怖畏如來 and 𘀍𘉒𗩤𘕜𘈪𗍣𘁂𘈪𗏤𘕜𗫂𘁂 = 捺謨微葛怛得囉(二合)耶荅塔葛達耶, although the Tangut has 𗍣 bja² (for Sanskrit bha) instead of 得囉(二合) which I cannot explain.

People who believe they can practice Buddhism in any way they see fit should read the Alagaddūpama Sutta. In it, the Buddha warns that the Dhamma is like a snake—if grasped incorrectly, it can bite you.
