Nigel Farage wants to drag Britain down the same road as Trump’s America: chaos, division and fear. Our NHS, our rights and our communities are at risk. Do not let Trump’s America become Farage’s Britain.

Trump at the UN:

"I look at London where you have a terrible mayor... Now they want to go to Sharia law."

This is entirely false. London Mayor Sadiq Khan is politically moderate and has never ever called for Sharia law.

This is Islamophobic propaganda and a bigoted attack on Khan.

Americans I am begging you to sort this out. Your mad racist uncle has shat himself in public again.
Trump to the UN: "I have to say, I look at London where you have a terrible mayor -- terrible terrible mayor -- and it's been so changed, so changed. Now they want to go to Sharia Law ... both their immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe."

The hysterical reaction of certain commentators to today’s UK-EU agreement is something to behold.
The “surrender” of using e-gates when you go on holiday. The contempt for the “will of the people” of making education abroad more accessible. Rigorous debate is good. This nonsense is a waste of time.

Bannon the latest in the “Britain doesn’t manufacture anything” brigade. It’s a lazy trope you hear repeated in the media a lot.

In fact the UK remains the 8th or 9th biggest manufacturer in the world. 10% of our GDP with some of the most advanced manufacturing anywhere.

No, Britain did not get off lightly in the Trump tariffs. And no, it is not much of a vindication of Brexit. Or at the least seeing it is an economic dividend is to conveniently look away from the more substantial economic costs.

New writing from me.

Trump hailed FDR immediately after he claimed that tariffs would have stopped the Great Depression.

Here's what FDR thought about tariffs:

"Our tariff policy has made us, instead of a nation trying to sell surplus goods, a nation trying to keep goods out. That is a policy of economic stupidity."

Fascinating to watch political communication of positive nationalism. (These are immense political ads.)

A thousand times this.
Surprised to see so many headlines from news outlets suggesting Putin has agreed to a ceasefire.

He’s done no such thing. He’s basically said he would do in theory, providing his conditions are met, on his terms. Which is just a variation on what he’s always said.

The BBC is our greatest form of soft power (closely followed by the Arts in general) and yet both the left and the right want to dismantle it. We are developing quite the knack for self-face-shooting.
There are very real examples of what happens when the World Service has retreated.

In Lebanon, when its Arabic radio service left, the Russian state-backed Sputnik radio moved in and on to its frequency - directly targeting its former audience…
NEW: BBC bosses will make push for government to take back costs of the World Service, amid an “aggressive” Russian state disinformation drive

Now “undeniable” case for using world service to push western values, they say. State media moves in when WS moves out.
