At my PhD dissertation, many but not so many years ago, at least one professor (not from the commission) and sadly also a member of my extended family asked me if I was now ready to "calm down", "settle" and I think the word "kitchen" was used "jokingly". Women never found these jokes funny, lads.
Dissertation by Dr Rachel Los not only includes acknowledgements, but also .. anti-acknowledgements.

There is much to consider when it comes to making psychotherapy safer, but the discussions seem more focused on professional bodies peacocking than on genuine interest in change. What Erin and I keep emphasising is being ignored: most iatrogenic harm comes from qualified, regulated professionals.
