My view: our genes *influence* our psychological predispositions, which *influence* the way we adapt and respond to life's circumstances, shaping our habits and character in the process... (but none of those influences are deterministic)

Another “Against therapy” account. We get a bad rep these days, I feel. With many things I agree, and even more things I disagree. One thing is sure: man is not afraid to question the foundations and it seems to be coming from the heart, and for that I applaud. Good food for thought.

How is the memorability of an image influenced by how it makes us feel?

@hartwakeland.bsky.social created an image set (VAMOS) of over 900 scene images, along with their valence, arousal, and memorability ratings. They then showed that *moderately* negative images are more memorable!
