Yesterday a friend from Australia notified me that he and his wife were in town and asked to come visit me and my wife this afternoon. So I bought some beer and snacks. I invited my son, daughter-in-law, and toddler grandson to join us. Four hours to straighten things up for the visitors.

I got a phone call from my brother-in-law yesterday. We have spoken together more since my sister died two years ago than we have the 52 years they were married. I also got a phone call yesterday from a friend whom I haven’t seen in 30 years. We talk every couple of years to catch up. A good day.

Once again, I wake up and my first thought is, “Did he have a stroke overnight? Is he dead? When will this crap end? Nightmares are supposed to end when we wake up.”

My disability has caused pressure sores for 28 years now. I fear a future with no healing.
My needs and hopes for my BFF wanting my hand to be held no longer occur. I fear a future where this compassion never again happens.
The only relief to these pains are visits and smiles from my grandson.

I just watched a special on David Souter and it was fascinating. He said his greatest concern for America ( this was 20 years ago) was that when problems go unaddressed a person could rise to power claiming he could fix if he was given complete power- gave me goosebumps

good news in local school board elections in North TX. MAGAs defeated by folks supported by progressive and moderate voters. Keller, Grapevine/Colleyville, Mansfield, Carrollton/Farmers Branch, Richardson voters rejected book banning, transphobic fears. Local activists got voters to show up!
