I’m sad to hear the news that the wonderful Jane Goodall is no longer in the world. Her work with chimpanzees at Gombe in Tanzania taught us to look at other apes - and ourselves - differently. I was privileged to meet her later in life and tell her what an inspiration she was to me.

"The economy is driving us into the ditch... It is based on the creed of cancer — steady growth... It has to shrink, and be distributed more equitably around the world.
We’ve left out the foundation of our existence, which is nature…
We've failed to shift the narrative.
We need revolution."

"Corals are a canary in the coalmine for climate and other compounding threats...
There are now fewer and fewer healthy coral systems… The water is just getting too hot and too polluted, and there is too much extraction…
...You, in the global north, have to change what you’re doing..."
‘It’s death by a thousand cuts’: marine ecologist on the collapse of coral reefs.

More than anything #climate and #biodiversity crises make me angry. As few people are largely responsible, while all pay the price, mostly those least responsible.

In just 12.5 hours, Webb captured the deepest, sharpest infrared view of our universe to date! 🌌🔭 Imagine holding a grain of sand at arm’s length—that’s how small this field appears from Earth. Yet, it reveals galaxies billions of years old, pushing the boundaries. #JamesWebb #DeepField #CosmicTime

This is Meatball. He's going home for the very first time. So excited to have a human of his own. Thinking about what he's going to call you. Maybe Bob. 12/10
