We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.
"Jones, 27, is among the residents left at 7500 S. South Shore Drive who are trying to piece together what remains after an early morning, high-powered federal immigration raid led to the arrests of dozens of their neighbors at their South Shore apartment building."
Massive immigration raid on Chicago apartment building leaves residents reeling: 'I feel defeated'
The Department of Homeland Security said federal agents with Border Patrol, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested 37 people in the raid.

The husband and kiddo have birthdays next week, so today we're heading to Scarowinds to celebrate. In related news, I just saw the tracking update that my CBD-infused arthritis salve is also arriving today.

As someone who has participated in clinical trials as a patient, this move is extremely reckless and unethical.
The quick shutdown of USAID abandoned patients with experimental devices and drugs in their bodies with no way to remove them in time. How many people are going to die because of the Trump/Musk mismanagement?

What’s the DOGE Death Toll?

I can't emphasize enough how disastrous the NIH cuts will be. If implemented as proposed, it could decimate universities and college towns. And it could mean every one of us in the US and around the world will experience shorter and less healthy lives.

From the Chronice of Higher Ed's daily newsletter email. The first ICE arrest on a college campus happened at Spokane Community College yesterday. The Chronicle, however, is here to tell us that in "the bigger picture," it's no big deal, even if "the loudest voices" say it is.
