Here’s my plan to fix shutdowns-
1)A lapse in funding triggers automatic 1 month CR at current levels
2) during automatic CR Congress must convene daily and members cannot leave DC
3) failure to pass funding under automatic CR means full government shutdown. No one works without pay.

The promise of a vote. Not the promise to vote for anything. No realistic passage. From a group of people who have moved the goalposts and reneged with impunity, even before their President illegally impounds funds he disapproves of. 40 days and a telling election defeat for a worthless promise.

Caveat Emptor

Just a reminder that nearly every regulation being rolled back had previously been paid for with lives, body parts, maladies, or misery.

But at least these companies can make a little more profit! /s

Diet Dr. Pepper and Coke Zero taste similar to the original products.
Diet Coke products taste like someone liked the original and failed at recreating them.
Diet Pepsi products taste like someone actively hates the original products and is trying to destroy them.

BREAKING: Senate just UNANIMOUSLY restored $1.1 billion for DC local govt that was eliminated

Why?

Because Senators of BOTH parties work in DC - and most have homes there - and none of them want to be in a hellhole

Now - try applying that same logic to THE REST OF THE COUNTRY

From inside the DoD:

“Schumer's bungling over the past two months & creation of this lose-lose scenario is a complete dereliction of his duties.
This was the sole moment where they had any real potential leverage to stand up and fight for the Constitution & they completely blew it from day 1.”
Text from a fed employee:

“We are truly alone.”
"I don’t get paid if there’s a shutdown but shutting the government down and putting up a fight is preferable to giving in."

"Every single one of my colleagues supports a shutdow."

"Everyone I know in my office was hoping the Dems would grow a spine and shut the government down."

I’m very tired of the “who could have known” articles being written about the handful of regretful Trump voters.

A) all of us who have been shouting it from the rooftops since 2016 and

B) it obfuscates how many either don’t care or are applauding the America destroying actions being taken.

Think about that 60-some-year-old South Korean senator who was literally climbing over walls to vote for impeachment as martial law was imposed in the country and then looking at…. Chuck Schumer.

While I believe Mitch McConnell will be remembered as one of the great villains of US Senate history, Chuck Schumer’s feckless ineptitude should not be overlooked for how we got here.

Imagine for a moment you’re getting beaten up by a bully and you have only one move to save yourself and your friends but you won’t use it because the bully may say mean things about you afterwards.

This is why Benjamin Franklin added “if you can keep it.”

Nothing like making America healthy again by *checks notes* ignoring an annual health crisis that already kills too many and is usually able to be mitigated.

I met her at a change of command ceremony. She was highly impressive. Much more so than any of the Senate confirmed Secretaries.
This hits hard…

“Then she was fired by a Fox News weekend host.”

You know what else hits hard? The fact that voters thought it was a good idea to hire a reality show host/bankrupt businessman as President of the United States.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.
