Stage 5 pundit-brain is watching an innocent woman being killed by agents of the state and going, "hmm this says a lot about the urban-rural divide in America."

You can't make this shit up. ICE recruitment used AI tools to sort applicants based on experience with law enforcement but fucked it up by including everyone who used the word "officer" in their application as "law enforcement officers"... who didn't require training.

What could go wrong?

My kids marched and I’m so proud, particularly of the care and organization that went into this student-led action. They had enough snacks, water, and hand-warmers for days. The 11th and 12th graders looked out for the middle school kids. It was beautiful.

"A piece of broccoli."

Honey, ✨girl dinner✨ is a meme. People aren't trying to make that the new reality.
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money."

"i serve the Lord, not a draft-dodging coward" is the kind of phrase that would be slightly cringe online and is incredibly badass when being stated by a man surrounded by armed men threatening to murder him
it's incredible how if you put this entire dialog into the Left Behind series, it would basically work, but instead it's just IRL MN

I need every example of an ICE agent asking if we've "learned our lesson" from what happened to Renee Good.

So far I've got the agent who knocked the phone out of the woman's hand, and the agents that were failing to intimidate the "I Serve The Lord, Not A Draft Dodger" guy.

Any others?

This administration excels at finding different ways to harm our children.

Assaulting and kidnapping them joins a long list -- bringing back deadly diseases like measles, slashing education funding, supporting Twitter's CSAM, and, of course, protecting the president's pedophile sex trafficker pals.
This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

MAGA is trying to justify the Portland shooting by arguing that the people drove off after being shot, and that this somehow explains why the agents fled the scene. At the same time, federal agents are claiming the victims were “gang members” who attempted to run them over with a car.

Vance's stance is, almost literally, "Well, she shouldn't have mouthed off like that. She asked for it."
When Vance insists, contra the videos, that Good threatened the ICE agent and "had it coming", what he means is that he, like Ross, feels threatened by any woman who has the audacity to use her voice in the public sphere.

This deeply misogynist worldview is core to MAGA.

The bare minimum needed in this moment:

- a thorough investigation led by state law enforcement
- the ICE thug brought up on murder charges
- Kristi Noem’s resignation
- a complete overhaul of ICE with rigid congressional oversight
- Trump censured for his lies about the murder

After Columbine I thought we would move heaven and earth to prevent mass shootings.

We did nothing and now they are almost a daily occurrence.

Today we watched an ICE thug brutally murder an American citizen in cold blood. A young mother.

If we do nothing this too will become a daily occurrence.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

Did not, and should not, have ever happened. Anyone who tries to rationalize what the murderer did, needs to have their head and heart examined.

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

CROW: That's actually not true. The majority of the deaths by drugs in America are the result of meth and fentanyl. Almost none of that comes from Venezuela

Nixon insisted the bombing of Cambodia was just targeting Viet Cong outposts there and not meant to undermine its government, but the bombings destabilized the Lon Nol government and paved the way for the Khmer Rouge’s killing fields and the massacre of more than a million people.
NBC's sources said that "the potential mission in Mexico is not designed to undermine the Mexican government." But that's what it will do if the US is doing CIA drone strikes on Mexican soil over the objections of the president.
