Delegated my memory to the internet long ago. Kindness is cool. Scotland's Library and Information Professional of the Year 2023. All views my own. She/her. Trans rights are human rights. Greatest achievement: using up an entire lip balm.
Ready to become a juror tonight!

Enjoying this correction of a newspaper report on a legal case 😂

I now have the image of a mass death event of actresses prior to the case starting 😱

What's the best thing you've found in a book today?

Very much enjoying this wee moptop (AKA a Gloster crested canary) from an ornithological show held in Edinburgh in 1913. Excuse the silverfish damage - it was used to line our roof.

Went to a William McGonagall themed event last night by the International Ghost Society, made chaotic poetry with my colleague, our poem was judged best by audience vote, won a tin of peas.

Excellent evening, 10/10, would McGonagall again.

If you're interested in Burke and Hare or Edinburgh history, maybe you'd like to put a bid in for this 1881 reprint of an 1829 publication "A Laconic Narrative of the Life & Death of John Wilson" about "Daft Jamie", one of the serial killer pair's victims.

AUTHORS!
Have you considered 'a photo of you & your professional colleagues in various stages of undress' as appropriate introductory matter for your Very Professional Book?
It fits beautifully in this textbook about the law, so I'd recommend it for books on tax, architecture, perhaps archaeology...

Let's rephrase this.

"Can we trust the thing that regularly gives incorrect information, and in addition, we can't even know where it got that wrong information from?"

Sounds like a really trustworthy thing, huh?🙄
