Personal thoughts, predominantly on all things rail and road
I always remember when hinkley c announcement was pulled at the last minute and they had to cancel a reception with the most amazing sounding French-Chinese fusion Food ever
Reports suggest Sizewell C will be confirmed at the Spending Review on 11 June and announced in early-July at Anglo-French Summit. More via the link, including some more on Centrica's potential involvement. buff.ly/puiyeRz

Actually not quite all- I was sat 5 seats away from the door and was still the only one to offer to get up for a heavily pregnant woman wearing a badge including one guy who is in the priority seat with a toddler who could easily go on his lap in the next seat

Re the Maude comments, aside from anything else most of the CS are on 5 desks to 8 employees. So there literally wouldn't be room to have 100% in. I also found a different Peer's comment about "how do you know work is going on if you can't see it" baffling

2024 was a turbulent year.

I've written for the Hounslow Herald with my reflections on the year & the hard work being done to restore trust in politics, rebuild our public services and bring the change we need.

Good morning mainly to @octopus.energy - giving me much needed free coffee. Unfortunately despite not paying for coffee I still can’t afford to buy a house, so my noisy neighbour situation and need for free coffee will continue.

The most unbelievable thing about #BlackDoves is the idea that there would be a civil service Christmas party with a free bar.

Wind power generation hit a record high in Great Britain last night.

More than 22GW being generated at 6.30pm.

Not a record share, from the looks of it, but a new record for generation.

Presumably a result of new windfarms such as Viking coming fully online in September.
