I've seen people say things like "our troops weren't designed to be used on US!!!" and look, I totally understand, I agree in some ways, but I really, really hope that if you feel that way you spend time thinking about the fact that there's no such thing as a weapon that can't be pointed at you.

"It won't happen to me" is not safety.

"It won't happen to anyone" is.

I've never really put my art out before. This is called Threshold. It's an abstract map of a potential future. 🌍

I've been experimenting with different media, and markup over photos is my current favorite.

“You have to have hope if you’re writing for young people,” I said. “It’s one of the underlying assumptions of the very existence of literature for young people. That there is a reason to tell children stories.”

"Those who refuse to listen to dragons are probably doomed to spend their lives acting out the nightmares of politicians. We like to think we live in the daylight, but half the world is always dark; and fantasy, like poetry, speaks the language of the night." —Ursula K. Le Guin

This account is for me to put good into the world. I'm not sure exactly what that looks like, but for today it is a reminder that the stories we tell—whether real or imagined—impact people in real, not imagined, ways. Be careful and purposeful with the stories you tell and accept.
