When Labour MPs are being asked to say "90% of #WASPI women knew", they are being misled by the DWP. That figure is just wrong and not supported by the independent Ombudsman.

The goverment's "90% of #WASPI women knew" figure is DIRECTLY CONTRADICTED by the Ombudsman in his report and in recent evidence to the Work and Pensions Select Committee.

The govt's "90% of #WASPI women knew" figure relies on a survey in which only 5% of the sample were actually #1950women. The Deputy Ombudsman called it a "red herring" and he is right.

"increasing the #SPA reduces average incomes of those affected, & this reduction is concentrated among those who were already out of paid work before state pension age. Increases in the SPA therefore increase income poverty rates"

Myself and my Lib Dem colleagues have always called for just remuneration.
370 of my own constituents have signed the petition calling for a compensation scheme. I look forward to properly addressing this.
