Samaritans of RI is a great org that helps people who are grieving, in distress or simply lonely. Their volunteers will just..listen to anyone across the country who needs to talk.

I wrote about these compassionate folks for the Valley Breeze.

The Southern tradition is if the first thing you eat in the New Year is black eyed peas, you’ll have good luck all year.

This is my favorite recipe—it has a Brazilian twist, and it makes the house smell yummy.

This season can be lonely. If you need someone to talk to, may I suggest Samaritans RI, part of the Befrienders Network? Their volunteers will just…listen. No judgments. Or hook you up with resources—whatever you need. Anybody in the US can call.

I realize this is risky for Gabe, but if more Staff would be candid about the way their (former) bosses operate, we’d have more transparency into our government.

Officials shouldn’t be doing shady things Staff should feel they should hide.

We decked out Oliver in his winter ensemble from Trish Hampton’s store in Chepachet—kind of an Hermès vibe, n’est-ce pas?

I noticed something in this article that’s been nagging at me—the local Postmaster mentions a $40 billion reinvestment in USPS.

Didn’t the very same Postmaster General DeJoy—whom Biden couldn’t/didn’t fire—dismantle USPS infrastructure under Trump? Now are they replacing what they just trashed?

Yet more evidence of the NY Times’ obsolescence…

“Y’all” is the most useful unofficial word in our lexicon.

It takes a deft hand, however, to master the possessive “y’all’s”. It’s not for beginners.
A New York Times columnist says it’s “much too slangy, regional or what you might even call ethnic to ever gain universal acceptance.”

We couldn’t disagree more. www.texasmonthly.com/being-texan/...
The New York Times Denounced “Y’all.” We’d Like a Word.

I spoke to class of 25 great college students yesterday. I asked how many read a newspaper? No hands. Television? CNN? No hands. All said they got their news from social media. On my way out I asked another group if anyone was from RI. I asked who’s your governor? Response? “Whitehouse and Reed.”

This is one of my favorite shops in Providence—there’s something beautiful for everyone, at every price point, at Gallery Belleau.

When I’m looking for gifts—especially holiday gifts—it’s my first stop. I’ll find something one-of-a-kind and special.

We’ll be heading out tonight to Chepachet—where Trish Hampton’s cool dog store sits on Main Street—for the first of the town’s Thursday Candlelight Shopping nights of the season.

Can’t wait to meet the nice folks and see the village dressed up for the season—may even have a snowy backdrop!
