A little bitty plot bunny started hopping around in my noggin' last night and I finally gave in and got as much of the idea put to paper as I could - and now I'm putting my plot bunny notebook at the bottom of my desk drawer so I can focus on my current draft.

Senate update: Republicans are now trying to sneak a backdoor national abortion ban into their government funding bill. Republicans will stop at nothing to control women's health care decisions.

I don't know if it's ironic or tragic (or both) that this piece by @brotigupta.bsky.social from 2018 still works all too well.

LA: “They took a US citizen father out and left a toddler in the backseat. Two heavily armed border patrol agents got in that car and drove the child and the vehicle away.”

What are we doing?

I know NaNoWriMo is no more, but as we stare down November I lament once again why it was ever held in November and not, I dunno, February.

November = family here for a week or more, Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping

February = cold, dreary, I don’t want to leave the house anyway

They are crossing the line. At what point is the line just gone?
A mother of 8 was deported within 24 hours of reporting sexual harassment by an ICE contracto

She was following the rules & going through the process to get her green card

Someone working on behalf of ICE abused her.

She spoke out and was kicked out of the country.

It’s retaliation & it’s wrong

I think this one is even harder than giving up Target, but I’m disgusted. Looks like I'm canceling my #spotify subscription until the ICE ads are removed. Streaming hate is a choice and I refuse to fund it. #CancelSpotify app.sosha.ai/s/En7CFjMI

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

You can joke about Pam Bondi’s ridiculous unprofessionalism all you want, but I’m deeply shocked by it: She acts as if she fears absolutely no consequences, convinced that there will be no more political power transfers. — This should shake everyone to their core.

"a tradition"???

It's literally the law.

This matters because the law is not self-executing. If we treat it as non-binding, its constraints grow even looser.

Black women remain the most consistent targets in all of this.

Sweet baby Jesus sitting in a cradle, if I see one more person use THE BRADY BUNCH episode of the measles as an example of why measles isn’t bad…

They won’t listen to doctors but a episode filled in ‘69 is good enough for them?
