Life got crazy and I haven't been #onhere in a while. I missed it. Let's get back to raising hell, ya'll.

You know what's beautifully ironic? Trying to remove trans people from a monument to what happens when society pushes trans people too far. Some people really need to study the history they're trying to erase.
Trump erasure of transgender references extends to Stonewall monument website
President Donald Trump's transgender policy began with a Day One executive order delegitimizing gender identity. Now it has encroached on a conspicuous place, removing the word "transgender" from the U.S. National Park Service website for the Stonewall National Monument.

I view it as one of my roles as a journalist/commentator right now to convey messages like this, and tailor it to local audiences and circumstances.

The winds of gaslighting, normalization, and dishonesty are hurricane-strong right now. It's important to remind people what's real.
I appreciate that my therapist’s attitude now is “things are completely out of control, inhumane, and in a state of collapse and if you are reacting in a way that demonstrates that you understand the gravity, that is the most normal reaction of all.”

A huge boost to public transit in the area that has been a long time coming...and with more daily trips than originally planned?! 😍

South Coast Rail will be more ambitious than planned - The New Bedford Light
Starting March 24, the MBTA will run 32 daily weekday train trips to and from Boston, with shuttle trains connecting the line’s New Bedford and Fall River branches.

Kanye blames his behavior on #Autism. Autism doesn't make you a self-proclaimed Nazi, a misogynist, etc. Including him disclosing an ASD diagnosis in news articles about selling swastika t-shirts is awful. Journalists, do better. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD

Dems struggled with the youth vote. You know what's really not helping? Constantly harping on "those 22-year-olds" as part of the party line response to every DOGE move. If you're calling out inexperience, then do *that*. Stop saying their ages or "the DOGE kids."

I desperately want us to stop adopting the language of "school choice." It's amplifying their framing of the issue. We could be highlighting the potential and promise of equitably-funded public schools instead. I'm proud to be #PublicSchoolMade, #K12 and #HigherEd, including 1.5 Master's degrees.

🧵 If you’re applauding the abolishment of the Department of Education, you need to do a little research. You have ZERO clue what the DOE actually does.

Here’s a reality check on what the Department of Education actually does:

They are going to ignore court orders.

If they ignore court orders, the social contract is dead and buried, the constitution is no longer in effect.

It's a rubicon that cannot be uncrossed.

One of my favorite things about returning to a platform like this? The timeline visually blending of people from across my interdisciplinary life. #HigherEd & #StudentAffairs. #History & #PubHist. #Politics & #Advocacy. Now I just need to mix in #Disability, #ChronicIllness, & #AuDHD. 😁

Saying "don't worry, they'll stop it, our scientific research is valuable and profitable and important to tuition-paying students" suggests you've misunderstood that it has been an ideological project all along. The humanities were all those things too! It was never just about profit and loss.

With the NIH cuts, there’s no longer any excuse for any professor, in any discipline, to not address the moment in their classes. You don’t even have to be “political” if that’s how you roll; this changes everything. You need only observe reality. 1/

"We have to allow this [org/shelter/hospital/school] to erase the trans community and comply to save everyone else"

Absolutely not.

I will not allow my community to be jettisoned to save yourself. Yes, if you don't, other groups may suffer, and you might too.

But we are all in this together.
