"DOGE" and Pony Show"
Political cartoon digital illustration, first thing I've drawn in years.

Took a while to complete but here's a new sassy political riff for ya, Little Jack Horner style. Details noted in ALT text.

LOVE (/s) how the 1% architects of society constructed various tests to determine the paths we "deserve" to pursue, most leading to their own overstuffed egos and pockets, but Pres. Candidates aren't required to write a high school level research paper, sources cited, supporting proposed policies...

It's like constantly treading water, only you're trapped in a glass box w/constant inflow. Slow drips to high pressure pouring, it feels impossible to come up for air. And you're stuck like this, in these murky waters, watching the world float by.

Ableism is blaming disabled people on how their needs are a burden on the system rather than blaming the system on how inaccessible things are for disabled people.

I thought I understood the depths of disability after growing up caretaking, but was still so unprepared for the oceanic trenches of grief & inequity, the loss of self while abilities & mobility plummet, the crushing weight of it all as you fight to find the glimmers of good.

We need a revised “Spoon Theory” that takes into account being chronically ill during Trump’s second term.

The moment you check your news feed you run out of spoons.

Most articles are knives being flung into your cutlery drawer against your will.

It’s very hard to protect your baseline right now.

Lots of takes like “wait until grandma can’t get her kidney meds!” And it’s like, this situation is already very real to millions of (young!) disabled people. The “grandma” trope shows how much not-currently-disabled people think they’re immune to chance. Disability can happen to anyone at any time.

Dozens of Department of Education staff have been suspended for attending DEI seminars, one of which was to learn how to accommodate disabled students.

School is so hard when you’re a disabled or chronically ill kid.

It’s even worse with rampant covid reinfections.

The kids need us to fight back
Education Dept. workers put on leave after taking diversity training during Trump's 1st term, union says
A letter to the affected employees obtained by NBC News said they would continue to receive their full salaries and benefits and wouldn't be required to do any work-related tasks.

Whenever a friend develops chronic illness, has a bad experience with the healthcare system or faces temporary disability, they say “oh my god I didn’t know it was THIS bad”

They did know. We told them. They chose not to believe us

Believe disabled people. Listen. Help. One day it’ll be your turn

You know what I miss? Being able-bodied enough to have a nice, cathartic, Kermit the Frog style freakout.

If you're protesting tomorrow:

"I invoke my rights to silence and counsel and will not answer questions without my attorney present."

MEMORIZE THAT, because aside from asking if you're free to leave (or providing ID if you're in a stop and ID state), that's the ONLY thing you ever say to cops.

I know it can seem annoying to see so many cries for help, but it's true
