Youth is a time to explore. Take risks. Fail. Learn. This is sad.
In a study of Gen Z's personal goals, "to be safe" ranked as the top priority, outweighing traditional teenage desires like popularity and fun. A developmental psychologist explains what this says about growing up in an era of constant crisis:
Gen Z seeks safety above all else as the generation grows up amid constant crisis and existential threat
Recent generations may have taken safety for granted, but today’s youth are growing up in an era of compounded crises – and being safe is their priority.

I don’t know why it keeps hitting me hard when women are treated like objects. You would think I would be numb to it by now. Different tactic…same underlying issue.
I partnered with Ophea (Ontario non-profit) to create a middle to high school resource on how to prevent this violence from happening because the sad reality is that currently, creating deep fake nudes of someone is not illegal.

A group of high school girls went to police to report what they thought was a crime. A boy they knew had made naked pictures of them using artificial intelligence.

Never been much of a Costco shopper… changing that would be a good New Year’s resolution.
After some Costco shareholders asked the company to end its DEI policies, this was their response: “Our board has considered this proposal and believes that our commitment to an enterprise rooted in respect and inclusion is appropriate and necessary."

This explains why Costco is an industry leader!

Once you see it. It is hard to unsee. I am more and more convinced that media literacy is critical.
Well this is horrifying. The wave of stories over the summer about Blake Lively being a horrible person were deliberately engineered.

After Blake Lively alleged sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us, Justin Baldoni hired Johnny Depp's PR person to smear her.

Today marks the 35th anniversary since 14 women were gunned down at a Montreal engineering school - just for being women. Let’s never forget and remember women’s rights are human rights.

It’s a brand issue. Brand is more than what you say. But do you deliver and is it aligned with your purpose & values. If any of those things are misaligned, you get loss of trust. And then you have to market a brand consistently.
"The issue wasn’t so much the Democratic brand as it was the misperceptions of it. The goal, in turn, is simple: do the work to make sure those misperceptions don’t take hold."

There is no reason why we have to stick to a 5-day work week apart from “that’s how we have done it for the last 70 years.” This is fascinating.

It’s unfortunate that this strike will only enrich retailers like Amazon and hurt charities and small businesses. We’ve already seen a decrease in year end fundraising. How are others doing? #nonprofit
