Southampton looks pretty from the water at night. No apologies to those who sneer at cruises- those of us who can’t relax unless trapped and forced to do what we have to…

My current favourite scaffold is the one to the Hungerford bridge. I also have a favourite scaffolder 👀👀👀

Along with property prices, these makeshift metal towers are increasingly the subject of dinner-party chat

Hello from a mountain of cupboard

Fatal flaw in new kitchen layout: the fridge is where Dora’s food cupboard was so she appears looking hopeful every time someone opens it.

But Dora I need to get up

Which bin do lightly chewed (by Dora) deceased rodents go in? Food waste? General rubbish? #bins

Aah, another day, another patch of water on the kitchen floor and another gentle tap tap tap from behind a cupboard somewhere…

Huh, I thought it was a bit weird that the building inspector had changed company on one of our projects…
Seems like a thing the government *should* maybe consider stepping in to address - not to bail out the company but to support the pipeline by protecting frontline workers - given how close this is to a key priority

A contract manager from quite a high end contractor was telling me that they have a client who keeps telling them that ChatGBT says they should do something (e.g. change waterproofing details) and he keeps having to say “I’m very sorry but we have to build in accordance with building regs”
Was talking to an interior designer who uses AI a lot now, and she thinks it made her more productive for a month, and now all the time she has gained not doing drawing herself is spent telling clients “ok, but the thing you’ve got AI to make for you will rip out the wall”.
It has rapidly become the norm for things created by AI to be the dumbest shit you have ever seen.
