Well, in honor of COP30, my class did two rounds of the World Climate Simulator. Hardball level, without the US present.

We got to 2.3 degree C by 2100. And not nearly enough contributions to climate funding (and one group saying no climate refugees in return for $$).

I so love/hate this activity.

It is amazing how much working on a single job app messes with my ability to think and focus. And how much it causes my anxiety to skyrocket.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is not a hero and should not be rehabilitated. She's the same person and angling for higher office.

Just use her to weaken MAGA. Divide and destroy.

10 years ago, 59% of new solar capacity was deployed in rich countries.

Today, emerging economies lead the charge.

#China, #India and #Brazil have together delivered 60% of all new solar capacity since 2015 🇨🇳 🇮🇳 🇧🇷

Just let my students talk me into doing a 5 star Pokemon raid with them at the beginning of their data collection period for our community ecology lab.

Because. Science.

(We won!)

I loved the enrollment period as a student. Now I look upon it with dread that my classes won't meet minimum enrollment.

Why is it that my dog waits until I sit down with ice cream to tell me she wants to go for a walk?

That moment you get to link your students to a webpage discussing biomes in Pokemon Go because, yes indeed, we will be playing Pokemon Go to study community diversity in lab on Thursday.

Started the day by running over a squirrel on my way to work.

Please don't be an omen for the week.

How I'd like to spend N7 Day: playing Mass Effect non-stop.

How I will be spending N7 Day: grading, vacuuming, dog nail trimming, laundry.

....at least I'll end it with a Garrus/Shepard fic marathon? That counts. Right?

Fuck yeah New Jersey and New York.

And all the other great election turn outs. But I'm definitely biased towards home.

It's 7:30 pm. I have classes done for tomorrow, dinner made for the next few days, lunch packed, and even showered.

But I have so much grading and I feel so guilty that I'm just sitting here on the couch watching CSI instead. I just don't have any energy and the cough is coming back. 😑

Me: gonna get so much work done this weekend

My body: how about a low-grade fever, sore throat, exhaustion, and nausea?

Really happy I did grocery shopping yesterday and planned on mushroom soup for dinner the next few nights.

I nearly did this today. Went with Dutch football fan instead.

...also a ridiculously lazy costume choice.

Definitely jinxed myself the other day by bragging about my new ability to sorta budget and save in emergency funds to my parents.

Currently sitting at an auto repair shop because I hit a curb and damaged my tire to the point of needing it replaced. 🙃

Apparently my parents' hurricane of chaos pup hurt her back by falling off the bed last week and is on restrictive actvity for the next few weeks.

I honestly don't know how Mags is going to survive when this is her native state:
