A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF

If there are no consequences to the "president" for threatening political opponents with death or being cruel to reporters, then why is it even news? Just so we can all be sad about it?

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

Whatever the Epstein Files reveal, it is clear that he must go.

The nation cannot endure a full term of the grifting, dismantling of institutions, and abductions on the street by masked agents, much less skyrocketing prices, allying with dictators, and outright lying.

You are not actually avoiding the difficult terrain of politics in the pulpit by not saying anything.

Refusing to speak simply becomes tacit approval of the status quo.

In times of moral chaos, silence is complicity.
Why Pastors Must Preach about Politics
Faithful preaching cannot avoid the political moment we’re living in.

A reminder that seven years ago almost to the day, the CIA determined that Mohammed Bin Salman ordered the killing of @washingtonpost.com journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

I hired and worked with Jamal for a year.

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

The guy who said he could stand in the middle of 5th Ave. and shoot someone and still get elected—
sure looks like he was right about that.

So, it makes sense that people are cynical about whether releasing the Epstein files will change anything… or bring any real accountability.

What the Senate Democratic defectors did is like the Montgomery bus boycotters calling it quits after 40 days because city leaders promised to “review” bus seating policies.

History teaches us the status quo doesn’t change because of vague promises, it changes because people persist in resisting.

My hometown. ✊🏾

Waukegan’s had a vibrant and proud Latino community for as long as I can remember.

I’ve always considered that a blessing.

They picked the wrong city to mess with.

SNAP benefits won’t go out in November.

People of conscience all over the nation are already coming together to fill the gap and fill stomachs.

My concern is that we won’t talk enough about how it’s not supposed to be this way.
