Thanks. I want to die.
For people in their mid-40's this might turn out to be the 5th 25% stock market drawdown of their careers. That's the same number as there were in the second half of the 20th century:

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

I sincerely hope @whitehouse.senate.gov , @reed.senate.gov , @amo.house.gov , and @magaziner.house.gov all do not attend the SOTU. Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures. Walk out in the opening minutes. Do something to let the world know we reject the notion that we now have a king.

Just in case you thought that removing DEI criteria would mean that everyone is competing equally: NIH is removing grad students from underrepresented backgrounds from the applicant pool altogether. Their applications will not be considered. Other students, not from these backgrounds, will be.

@magaziner.house.gov @amo.house.gov how about you both do this tomorrow? As a RI constituent, I beg you to take action to stop the illegal actions by the DOGE thugs.
Reps. Judy Chu (D-Calif.) and Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.) barged into House Speaker Mike Johnson’s office unscheduled on Wednesday and challenged him about Elon Musk's team gaining access to a sensitive payment system at the Treasury Department.
