This is where I've been at since the top of the year. I missed my dear cousin's wedding and visiting family in general because of it.
“At least six Canadian children, with birth years ranging from 2009 to 2024, were detained during the period. One Canadian child was held for 51 days — more than twice the 20-day limit set by a long-standing U.S. court-ordered agreement.”

For his friends to know *exactly* what to say? WOW. This is incredible.
Will Arnett was on Conan and told a story about how Conan dealt with the death of his parents by accusing Jason Bateman of killing them. It’s so funny.

Still wild to me that the person whose music blog I used to visit all the time is a co-founder of WeTransfer.

The Blog Era was such an incredible time to discover music new and old for the first time and share with fellow music lovers. So much of my list comes from that time of just letting my curiosity fly + having a regular rotation of blogs to visit all the time.

A perfect millennial night: Seeing the Toronto Symphony Orchestra play the live music of Home Alone alongside the film, surrounded by other millennial parents who were overwhelmed and teary-eyed/crying (like I was) and their kids who were delighted seeing the film for the first time 🥰 + Thai food 😁.

"Psalm" sounds like a prayer. Whenever I listen to it, I'm always still and quiet, letting whatever flow through. Completely captivated by this incredible piece of music.

Across Western nations, this trend is stark among WOC specifically. But IIRC, the problem was and continues to be getting disaggregated data that's consistent and reliable, at least over here. The numbers for Black and Indigenous women is just appalling.
December 3, 2025 at 3:55 AM
Wow. When I was studying criminal justice in undergrad, this was the topic of many of my essays because, according to the research papers I read, this trend was growing across nations but going unnoticed. This was almost 15 years ago.

One of my favourite albums of all time. Psalm always, always moves me.

TRL but going from living most of my life without that clause rarely being invoked to it being invoked *all the time* is wild and alarming AF.
Danielle Smith has invoked the notwithstanding clause four times in five weeks. This authoritarian turn has targeted labour, trans youth, and basic human rights. As Ryan Kelpin writes, it should alarm everyone in Canada.
The authoritarian edge of Alberta conservatism
Danielle Smith’s unprecedented use of the notwithstanding clause is reshaping Alberta politics, targeting labour, trans youth, and minority rights. Ryan Kelpin traces the far-right project behind her ...

100% agree. There are people who believe that it's your responsibility to continue speaking to them anyway because of the way you're related and because the cruelty can never be a good reason to stop. Otherwise, how will they know how to know/respect/relate to you?
One of my fundamental beliefs is that I should not have to talk to people who have been cruel to me. You might be surprised to learn how often -- and vociferously -- people disagree with me about that.

One of the running jokes of living in Toronto: We never, ever get snow days. EVER. Any time I tell young people, cousins from elsewhere etc. I don't even remember ever having them as a kid and an adult, they're shocked.
We could get hit with seven feet of snow and these jokers won’t ever declare a “snow day”.
We had back-to-back snowstorms earlier this year & everyone was expected to work.

Reminds me that I should do a reading. It's been a while for me. A few things happened this year that a reading of my chaotic ass birth chart could help me make some sense of.

Very accurate for me. I quickly process whether or not I mess with you anymore and just keep it moving. But! I won't let you misunderstand where we stand, lol.
As a Gemini we don’t hold grudges cos we really got so much on our minds, we get over things and keep it pushing not cos we don’t care but because we’ve already processed it

Watched Rental Family yesterday. What a lovely movie. Brendan Fraser still has *it*, IDK how else to describe his performance. The cast? Fantastic.

The film has sent me down a rabbit hole where I've got 3248390248092 books saved to read because I didn't know rental families were a thing at all.

Can't believe there are people on here *still* going up for Talib. STILL! After years! There is way too much evidence online + across SM platforms to feign ignorance at this point.

The way I was outside ALL DAY yesterday so that I could avoid the snow today. Indoors and cozy today ✨.
