Current fiction in Prairie Fire.
Likes Latin American literature, endurance sports, carbs
Dislikes genocide, billionaires
In 2021 I wrote a story about a grad student who lies about being Métis, inspired by several CanLit identity-fraud scandals. I wanted to explore the twisted settler mentality that makes it possible to justify colonizing identity.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

I like Jimmy Kimmel. I really do. I have no issues with him.

I'm talking about something very different.

Kimmel was only suspended. But he's back now. Karen Attiah and all the other Black journalists are still fired.

Y'all do know how to fight, when you want to.

But you don't really want to. 🤷🏿‍♂️

the kimmel thing is bad but as long as they arent rounding people up indiscriminately based on race, building concentration camps and talking about eradicating those they deem sexual deviants, i think we’ll be ok

The assassination of Charlie Kirk makes we worry we can no longer have peaceful discussions of whether gays should be stoned to death or civil and collegial debates about whether black people are inherently inferior. Our culture will suffer.

Snapdragons are my favorite flower to grow. They do however produce seed pods that look like the screaming skulls of the damned.
