My best advice for game designers is to be interested in and curious about lots of things besides games, and to do lots of things besides play games. It makes you a richer person and a better artist.
This is also true of tabletop games.
constant advice I give to folks in this space is to consume more than just games / games media.
read books. watch/read about sports. listen to unfamiliar music. see a movie that isn't an established IP.
if your world only holds games, that's the only context you'll be able to see them in.

After 6 years, someone found a bug in Lamplight City where performing a specific set of actions causes the game to hit an unwinnable dead end state in Case 3.
Just goes to show, no matter how much you test, there will always be something that slips by!
