seems ~obvious to me that npm should yank all affected releases of packages here and should reinstate the ability for publishers to yank releases. unfortunately everybody took a knee-jerk entitled position after left-pad that yanking should never be allowed for any reason

I've seen several posts claiming that turning off smart features in gmail breaks filtering. this isn't true; I did not enable smart features when I was first prompted to do so and all my filters still work. my email would be absolutely unusable without them

much like many misreadings of social media posts can be averted by asking if something might be a joke, many complaints about films and videogames are caused by somebody not asking themselves why the creator might have made something that way on purpose

every day I am baffled and have to work around the fact that someone at slack decided that if someone replies to you in a channel, that reply should be displayed in a completely different part of the application that doesn't respond to the same keyboard inputs as the rest of the app
