Following up on RFK Jr's cruel, clueless approach to #autism, this story from #Iowa really resonates. So #RFKJR this dedicated public servant had nothing to contribute? Bullshit. Thanks to Adam Kofoed in #WestBranch for the courage to share his personal journey iowaleague.acemlna.com/lt.php?x=3DZ...

So "affirmative action" is wrong unless it discriminates against the four Democratic-leaning counties that produce 42% of our state's total real GDP and generate 36% of the general fund tax revenue? It's DEI for poor Republican counties! iowacapitaldispatch.com/2025/03/19/b...

"Ignorance is the handmaiden of tyranny." These efforts to keep their followers compliant and mired in the darkness of ignorance are the only way Republicans can stay in power. Insidious.
Today, Trump is dismantling much of the Department of Education. He has ordered wrestling executive-turned-Education Secretary Linda McMahon to shut most of her department.

But there’s a much larger story here. robertreich.substack.com/p/trumps-att...
Trump's attack on the American mind
Behind his closure of the Education Department and his assault on higher education, science, libraries, and museums lie the oligarchs of the techno-state.

I wish the Iowa GOP had this kind of common sense.
Yeah, when the REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR OF UTAH is able to make a more compelling case than a normie elected Dem, something is fundamentally broken.

As I sit on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial having just read these immortal words, I am horrified by the abomination we witnessed last night by that inarticulate buffoon. Do we have the resolve to ensure that this great American experiment does not perish from the Earth?

How ignorant and cruel do you need to be to not understand that preventing pandemics and mass death events around the world is not in our country's best interests? Global health actually IS putting America First! It's not that complicated.
The Trump administration terminates funding for polio, HIV, malaria and nutrition programs around the world.

“People will die,” said Dr. Catherine Kyobutungi of the African Population and Health Research Center, “but we will never know, because even the programs to count the dead are cut.”

Today's news?

The Reynolds Administration won't let us audit controls for over $100,000,000 they spent on the vouchers program, or whether Iowans' personal data is secure, & more.

Fascists in lil' ol' Decatur Co. Iowa feeling empowered to suppress free speech from within their elected role as county attorney. Disgraceful. For a bunch of 'patriots' they don't seem to know much about the Constitution.
Bonkers: The county attorney in Decatur County, Iowa sent a cease and desist letter to a citizen after she wrote a letter to the editor questioning a county supervisor's prolonged absence from public meetings.

Every crime, every indignity, all the damage, all the harm is squarely upon the people who voted for trump, knowing full well that he is a coward, a fool, a thief, a liar, and a wanna-be tyrant. Shame on every one of you. You did this.

Got my first "Violating an Executive Order" and "I'll make sure you lose federal funding" parent threat today for teaching "DEI" books in our upcoming "Liberty and Justice" themed unit. Even in "Blue" Massachusetts we're dealing with this.

Anyway, don't obey in advance, and don't obey later.
