I love the relentless advance of technology…our new microwave has a “bacon” button! (The next logical step after the “popcorn” button)

If you have zero non-white-men speaking at your con, mathematically you are fucking up. 3/4 of practitioners aren’t - statistically. So even if you blind CFP, it means that you are selecting talks in an exclusionary way, or there’s something deeply wrong in how potential submissions view your con.

I’ve been watching Love Boat on streaming, starting from the first episode (1977!) and I have been really enjoying it - it’s just the right amount of story, and rotating guest stars, to keep things interesting.

It’s fun to see who you recognize, or try to figure who they are/why they’re famous 😎

Give the kid a little drum, zero interest. Kid finds a tv remote and suddenly everything is a drum 😕

PSA: the CDC has a program that pays for your COVID vaccine if your insurer won't. The guy at CVS told me that my insurer had not added the new vaccine to its formulary yet, so I'd need to pay $190. I told him about this program, showed him the website, and paid nothing. 🤗

Just finished watching Deadloch last week, a very good dark comedy detective thriller with a massive dose of feminism (in a good way). It’s on Prime Video:

As someone smarter than me said, there are two takes on Elon Musk: one is that he's Henry Ford, and the other is that he's Henry Ford.

It just depends on what you actually know about Henry Ford.

Bill Maher is a scab? Wow this totally changes my previously high opinion of that smug Islamophobic racist transphobic misogynistic attention-whore.

Tip for ADHD kids with way too many projects:

Think of your projects not as a bunch of unfinished things, but like a restaurant menu! Maybe tonight I'm not feeling "flutter lisp bindings" but I *am* feeling "esp32 wozmon".

Stuff gets finished stochastically, but that's okay! 🥰

Some people have ethical concerns about feeding crows.

I mentioned this to a corvid biologist once. "Doesn't feeding them prevent them from living the way they naturally evolved to?"

"Not at all," she answered. "Crows and ravens evolved to trick mammalian carnivores out of their food."

It’s a good thing that H knows what’s going on, because I have no clue. “H, where’s your other slipper?” He runs over to random kitchen drawer and points at it - yep, the slipper is there!
