Sometimes you need to step back and look at everything happening at once. Today I examine three pieces of excellent journalism that dropped on December 10. @jael.bsky.social @journo-beth.bsky.social @jbendery.bsky.social www.readtpa.com/p/one-day-in...

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Bills like this all but guarantee we’ll have a longer list of names to remember with each passing year.
Nancy Mace has introduced a federal bathroom ban which would ban trans people from bathrooms in DCA and Dulles airports, national park bathrooms, museum bathrooms, and all federal building bathrooms.

It's notable to me that after years of fear-mongering about trans women playing sports, Republican leaders are now so emboldened that they won't even acknowledge that trans people exist. Almost like it was never really about sports.

Thank you, trans people! 🏳️‍⚧️
“…trans posters were the earliest adopters of Bluesky and were able to forge the platform into what it is today: funny, frequently horny, and with very strong moderation tools. If you like Bluesky’s vibe right now, thank a trans person.” [vox.com]

Governor Andy Beshear, in a Trump +30 state, gives advice to Democrats: Do not throw LGBTQ+ people under the bus, it will not work.

His advice to dems: Lead on your values.

This man ran on a fully inclusive campaign in 2023 and won. He received the same kind of ads Harris did.

Y'all know I'm going to fight. I'm going to build with communities of resistance and refusal. You'll hear from me about that, trust. But today I want to share another hot tip for survival in dark times: plan for joy. 1/x
