The BCA keeps saying Victoria is the worst place to invest… and yet business investment keeps growing faster there than just about anywhere else…

Contrary to BCA claims, Victoria actually among strongest places for business investment according to actual data
Despite continual demonisation of Victoria’s economy and suggestion that the state is a bad place to invest, the most recent state economy figures show that the Victoria remains a very popular place f...

CSIRO 350 job cuts a damning indictment on Government priorities, misses 'golden opportunity' on research
The announcement this week that CSIRO are to cut 350 research jobs is another damning indictment on Australia’s ongoing failure to prioritise research and development.

Next week we’ll no doubt be told about the strength of Australia’s innovation pipeline…

Time to properly fund the CSIRO.

Little known fact about Jesus: he was also very close to the gambling lobby, and fought hard to shut down freedom of information requests
At the Christian prayer breakfast this week, Attorney-General Michelle Rowland said that the “principles and values that Jesus lived by underpin the role of Australia’s first law officer” and claimed that “our values and faith” guide lawmakers. Read more: rationalist.com.au/australias-a...

No mention of genocide, collective punishment, occupation, idf, Palestine, no mention of israel, but one soft mention of israeli bombing. Oh and a very optimistic conclusion "May such stories of the past encourage the difficult task of recovery"
Some 80 years ago, Nagasaki residents faced the seemingly impossible task of rebuilding a devastated city. A similar challenge faces those in Gaza today.
As Gaza starts to rebuild, what lessons can be learned from Nagasaki in 1945?

This is very bad news - the ABS won't be releasing its Survey of Income and Housing.

This is the survey that gives us the best detail on inequality of both wealth and income and it means we won't get one till 2027.

The last one was in 2019-20 so it's already 5 years out of date

The point about the Advance donation issue is the hypocrisy. Jillian Segal wants to police everyone’s speech while defending her husband’s right to fund an organisation that propagates racism. Her position is untenable.
