In certain Chinese apps, you can @ the app’s bot and say “stop showing me this type of content, start showing xxx” when you see content you don’t like. I think that’s pretty cool!

I've often found ai safety fellowships to be centred around technical / governance side and not much on the important communication side!! So i'm really excited for this fellowship - apply even if you don't think you qualify!!
Anyone who creates or wants to create, filmmakers, YouTubers, journalists, science communicators, animators, podcasters, and storytellers of all kinds inform the world about the implications of AI on society - this fellowship is for you! framefellowship.com.

Uh-oh. “More than one-third (36.3%) of the global public reports having already felt that an AI truly understood their emotions or seemed conscious. This is not a niche occurrence. It is already.”
open.substack.com/pub/collecti...
People are starting to believe that AI is conscious.
And this is already affecting the world, regardless of whether or not AI ever actually is.

I rly enjoyed reading this - browsercompany.substack.com/p/letter-to-..., as someone who never rly used arc. The product vision is explained clearly, and why the pivot. Data is used sparsely yet widely to support the mismatch of internal excitement vs usage. “Truth will set you free”

“ I’m not just typing commands faster—I’m operating at a fundamentally higher level of abstraction.” 👀

Instead of thinking “I need to write a bash script to process these files, chmod it, test it, debug it,” I think “organize these files by date and compress anything older than 30 days.”

tldr these are the primitives i’m personally warm to. the first one probably can’t take off in userland if the app doesn’t embrace it. but maybe some other atproto app will? or maybe bluesky will do something like this? i’m not sure!

i just think there should be two user facing things.

one is something between pinterest Boards, reddit Subreddits, and twitter Communities. it’s basically just Lists of posts. i call it Collections in my head.

the other is kinda like feeds, you know, whatever Discover is. i’d probably just use one
