Assad is a murderer and a tyrant, and it’s good that he’s gone. Christians especially should care about Syria. The road from Jesus to all of us once went right through it. Let’s pray for peace for the Syrian people.

We so often miss that the "harshest" thing in the Bible isn't the judgement, it's the grace.

It's relentless. It exposes us again & again, answering our rebellion, our constant tendency to turn away from good toward ourselves, to prioritize trivial passion over consuming love from God & for others.

Optimist: the cup is half full

Pessimist: the cup is half empty

English Teacher: the cup appears conspicuously in every scene where the protagonist experiences betrayal. What might "the cup" have alluded to in the author's original contexts?

Student: *sigh* *copies the question into ChatGPT*
Optimist: the cup is half full

Pessimist: the cup is half empty

Creative writing lecturer: describe the cup without using the word ‘cup’, ‘half’, or ‘empty’. You’ve got 15 minutes.
Optimist: the cup is ½ full

Pessimist: the cup is ½ empty

Illustrator: Depending on the angle, you may not be able to see what’s in the cup at all. You need to be more specific in your brief. What else is around the cup that we need to be able to see?
