After the tariff deal is before the next necessary adjustment: if the new tariff line on vehicles means a knock down for everyone by 7.5 percentage points then the EV tariffs on China that address the distortion will have to go up… @sandertordoir.bsky.social

Der Kollege Tordoir macht sich gerade sehr verdient damit, immer wieder auf die Gefahren des zweiten China-Schocks für Deutschland hinzuweisen. Mein Gefühl ist allerdings, dass er damit nicht ausreichend gehört wird...

So we are back to square one on China-US trade relations for 90 days. Would be a massive exaggeration to call this agreement to de-escalate a „deal“, uncertainty remains high, but one thing is clear: China is certainly in a better position now than before the tariff escalation began.
