My condolences to all the Americans who must be in despair…. Pressuring Romania to release these two, the Gaza video, in just the last 24 hours. Trump’s behaviour is the worst of America.

We are in an alternate reality now … Did this vote take place during the Trump/Macron press conference?
Just America & Israel voting with Russia, Iran, North Korea...

...against Ukraine.

And there it is.

Netanyahu's govt has put sanctions on the Israeli newspaper Haaretz for its criticisms of Israel's behaviour.

Sanctions include prohibiting all public institutions from communicating with the paper.

This profoundly undermines democracy.

Interesting to listen to @nadinedorries.bsky.social on @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social. She said she’s been reflecting on how critical she used to be of Labour MPs who supported Corbyn and has realised that needs must when the membership choose a leader who isn’t your choice.

In UK when political leaders campaign election they’ve an actual or shadow cabinet so voters have some sense of who the various cabinet members will be. In the US - without a parliamentary system - people have no idea who will be appointed, with obvious current implications. What happens elsewhere?

Good point. Open discussion from all sides of the political spectrum is what I’m after.
Appreciate this may not be a universally popular opinion but the less you treat BlueSky as a crusade or cause, and the more you position it as simply a superior user experience with a better governance approach, the more sustainable the growth will be.

Govt have got to improve their messaging.
"1% of the population own half the land in England...the media have portrayed a very distorted view of the countryside, how land is used & who owns it"

Great to speak to @mrjamesob.bsky.social on @lbc.co.uk about the #ClarksonTax protests - watch the full interview:

Do love extending my vocabulary - apposite word as winter has arrived!
Word of the Day is ‘gwenders’, from old Cornish dialect: a disagreeable tingling in the extremities (or no sensation at all) due to extreme cold.
