It's so disappointing.
I fear that Labour is falling into the same trap that the Tories did – leaning on hostile rhetoric around immigration and damaging our public services and our economy in the process.

An anniversary worth marking.

I'm sure we're going to see the very people who have trashed its legacy seek to appropriate WW2 today - so let's remember what was really fought for: peace, a more united Europe, a land fit for heroes (mark 2) and the defeat of fascism.

Reading this at the moment. FDR surrounded himself with men and women who disagreed with each other and him, he experimented with plans and policies to fight the Great Depression, he thought government should have active responsibilities for all people’s welfare, and he knew he had to fight fascism

Stop calling it deporting, so MAYBE more Americans will get it. "Deporting" is sending someone back, after due process, to the country they came from, where they arrive a free person. This is human trafficking to a foreign torture prison for the rest of their lives. GET THE LANGUAGE RIGHT.

In GE2019, the Tories got 56% of seats on 44% of the votes. In GE2024, Labour got 63% of seats on 34% of the votes.

We need to change this system so that seats match votes - voters should get the MPs and policies they vote for.

Brilliant.
Yesterday YouGov gave Lib Dems highest rating since Nov 2019.

Today More in Common gives Lib Dems highest rating since they started polling.

Which technically means it is true to say: BEST LIB DEM RESULT SINCE DINOSAURS ROAMED THE EARTH.*
Our latest voting intention: small Reform dip, Tories slightly up & Labour at post election low, but biggest shift is Lib Dems hit 16% their highest from us

🌳 CON 25% (+2)
➡️ REF UK 24% (-2)
🌹 LAB 23% (-2)
🔶 LIB DEM 16% (+4)
🌍 GREEN 8% (+1)
🟡 SNP 3%(-)

KS is looking less and less like a statesman. He says we can be friends of both US and the EU and have been for years. The problem with this statement is that we were part of the EU!
"Starmer says he does not accept UK has to choose between US and EU"

Oh, well if you don't *accept* it...

Is the sky blue, Keir? Well I don't accept it.

Is water wet? I do not accept it!
